Teaching
I have spent over 20 years instructing students in the discipline and craft of music. All throughout my life I have been teaching music to others while I was also learning it. This was the case when I was in high school, studying music in college, while I was working as a touring and session musician, and continues today as I try to learn new things about producing music and making art.
Creative Process
Though I offer instrumental instruction on a number of different instruments, my primary focus is on teaching the creative process of writing music. Whether it is producing music on an ipad or computer or writing and rehearsing music as a band, I have developed a hands-on approach to teaching students by leading them through a creative project beginning to end and learning how to collaborate along the way.
Lessons
I offer private lessons, group lessons, small ensemble training, and songwriting and production classes in the metro area and also offer one-on-one remote lessons.
I also offer music instruction and clinics at independent music schools, private schools, homeschool academies, and community ed programs.
